Revenue estimate
We price each booked half-hour at The Swish Lab's posted hourly rate to estimate court rental revenue for the week.
How we calculate it
| Hourly rate | Booked hours | Listed value |
|---|
The range assumes 90% to 100% of booked hours were paid court use. Assumption range, not a statistical confidence interval. Larger groups, the Dr. Dish shooting machine add-on, birthday parties and content-creator sessions pay more per hour; prepaid membership hours pay somewhat less. Court rental only; excludes taxes, fees and merchandise.
Observations
What the week's calendar suggests for this facility, and where we would focus next.
- The weekday evening core is nearly full. From 5:30 to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday, 9 of 10 hours were booked. Keep these hours easy to reserve and add new programming in quieter periods first.
- Peak time carries the week. Weekday 3 to 8 PM and weekend hours were 51% booked, 28 of 55 hours, and produced 88% of the week's listed value.
- Off-peak time is mostly open. Weekday hours before 3 PM and after 8 PM were 8% booked, 5.5 of 65 hours. None of the 15 weekday early-morning hours, 5 to 8 AM, was booked; the venue first offered them on October 19. Off-peak time for one to three players already costs $10 an hour less than peak, so we would test programming before changing price: morning shooting blocks, homeschool or team sessions, or a push on the existing off-peak memberships.
- Sunday led the week. Sunday was booked 9.5 of 15 hours, 8.5 of them between 9 AM and 6 PM. Saturday, which fell on Halloween, was booked 3.5 of 15 hours.
